Center Valley, Pa.- Holy Cross sits atop the Patriot League standings at 2-0-1 and 7 pts. after last weekend's Patriot League play. Last weekend saw two of the four games end in double overtime. Three Patriot League teams are ranked in the Oct. 14 NSCAA Middle Atlantic Poll. Student-athletes from Bucknell, Lehigh, Colgate and American all took home Patriot League BRINE Player of the Week awards.

BRINE Offensive Player of the Week
Mark Schmiegel, Bucknell Sr., F, Toms River, N.J.
For the second time in three Patriot League games, Schmiegel scored an overtime game-winner, this one coming 2:20 into overtime to deliver a 1-0 win over Army. Schmiegel now has five goals this season, which is a career high.
BRINE Defensive Player of the Week
James Graf, Lehigh So., D, Schwenksville, Pa.
Graf helped lead a defense that registered its third shutout of the year against Holy Cross and allowed only one goal to No.19 Penn in a 2-1 double overtime win. This is Graf's first Patriot League honor this season.
BRINE Goalkeeper of the Week
David Cappuccio, Colgate Sr., Pittsford, N.Y.
Cappuccio pitched his third shutout of the season, with six saves in a 1-0 win over Lafayette. The shutout was the 19th of Cappuccio's career, placing him in a tie for sixth-place on the Patriot League all-time shutout leaders list.
BRINE Rookie of the Week
Matt Makowski, American Fr., GK, Quakertown, Pa.
Makowski had another solid game in goal for the Eagles, recording two saves while picking up his first career Patriot League shutout. The 2-0 win over Navy marked Makowski's third shutout of the season.

Patriot League Weekend Recap
Nearly halfway through Patriot League play, last weekend saw two of the four games end in double overtime. Holy Cross and Lehigh played to a scoreless tie in Bethlehem last Saturday, while Bucknell's Mark Schmiegel scored the game-winner in the second overtime period to beat Army. Colgate needed one overtime to hand Lafayette its first Patriot League loss of the season. American beat Navy, 2-0, in regulation.
Patriot League Preview
Next weekend's Patriot League games kick off with Army heading to Easton to take on Lafayette on Saturday at 1 p.m. Holy Cross hosts Navy for a 3 p.m. match, while Colgate and Bucknell play at 4 p.m. in Lewisburg. For the final match of the day, American will head to Bethlehem to face Lehigh for a 7 p.m. match.
Three Patriot League Teams In NSCAA Regional Poll
Three Patriot League teams are ranked in the October 14 NSCAA Middle Atlantic Regional Poll. Holy Cross is ranked third in the region after the scoreless tie with Lehigh. Colgate is tied for fifth in the region, with Lehigh claiming the seventh spot. Bucknell also received votes in the Middle Atlantic poll.
2008 Patriot League Tournament
The 2008 Patriot League Tournament will take place Friday and Sunday, November 14 and 16 at the site of the highest seed. The top four teams as determined by the regular-season standings will participate in the Patriot League tourney.
Team Notebooks
American
Seniors Phil Purdy and Anthony Moy gave American its first Patriot League win of the season, scoring the goals in the 2-0 win over Navy. The Eagles will host Georgetown on Tuesday afternoon, then will travel to Bethlehem for a Saturday night showdown with Lehigh.
Army
The Black Knights lost a heartbreaker in double overtime, losing 1-0 to Bucknell. Army is now 1-9-0 on the season. The Black Knights welcome NJIT to West Point on Tuesday night, then will travel to Easton for a Patriot League game against Lafayette on Saturday.
Bucknell
Bucknell's 1-0 overtime win over Army was the fifth straight overtime game for the Bison, which is a school record. The Bison are now 2-2-3 in overtime games this season. Bucknell will host Colgate on Saturday night in Patriot League play.
Colgate
Colgate lost 1-0 to host Hartwick but beat Lafayette 1-0 in double overtime in Patriot League play last week, bringing Colgate's overall record to 6-4-2 this season. The Raiders will travel to Lewisburg for a Patriot League matchup with Bucknell on Saturday.
Holy Cross
Junior goalkeeper Thomas Booth posted his fifth shutout of the season, as Holy Cross played to a 0-0 double overtime tie with Lehigh. Up next on the docket for the Crusaders is a Saturday afternoon game against Navy.
Lafayette
Lafayette is still looking for its first Patriot League win of the season after two ties and a loss to Colgate last Saturday. The Leopards next travel to Villanova for a Tuesday evening game, then will host Army on Saturday afternoon.
Lehigh
Jordie Ciuffetelli played extremely tight defense after stepping in for Mark Dangleis in the 2-1 win over No. 19 Penn and starting the scoreless tie game against Holy Cross. The Mountain Hawks will travel to College Park for a showdown with Maryland on Tuesday before hosting American in Patriot League play on Saturday.
Navy
The Mids are currently on an 11-game Patriot League losing streak, after getting blanked 2-0 by American. Navy travels to Howard for a Tuesday night game, then will travel to Worcester for a Saturday night game against Patriot League-leading Holy Cross.
