Center Valley, Pa.- Holy Cross senior defender Jerry Dickinson was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Defensive Player of the Week, the organization announced today. Dickinson is the first Patriot League men's soccer player to receive ECAC distinction this season.
Dickinson scored two goals in the second half of the Crusaders' game against Northeastern on Saturday, lifting Holy Cross to a 3-2 victory. Down 2-1 with just under 15 fifteen minutes left, Dickinson scored back-to-back unassisted goals for the victory. He also led the Crusaders defensively as they shut out Sacred Heart last Tuesday, 1-0.
Holy Cross is 3-1-1 on the season and is currently on a two-game winning streak. The Crusaders will travel to Florida this weekend for games against Florida Gulf Coast on Friday night and Florida International on Sunday afternoon.
