CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Colgate senior Mike Reidy, a first-team All-Patriot League selection and the Offensive Player of the Year in 2012, was chosen last week by Sporting Kansas City with the 71st selection in the Major League Soccer (MLS) Supplmental Draft.
Reidy tied with Lafayette's Alec Golini with a League-high seven goals, while his 16 assists were tied for second in 2012. A native of Webster, N.Y., Reidy helped lead the Raiders to the 2011 Patriot League title as a junior, and then guided them to the semifinals of the 2012 League tournament, where they fell in the semifinals to eventual champion Lafayette.
Reidy, the 2009 Patriot League Rookie of the Year, played in 77 matches in his collegiate career with 19 goals and eight assists. He's the second Colgate player in as many seasons drafted by an MLS team, as Steven Miller was chosen following his senior campaign last year by the Montreal Impact.
