CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Three Patriot League men's lacrosse teams will participate in the inaugural Metropolitan Lacrosse Classic at Citi Field March 17, it was announced Monday by the New York Mets.
Colgate takes on Michigan in a non-League contest at 1:05 p.m., while Holy Cross battles Navy in a conference showdown at 4:05 p.m. ESPNU is expected to televise the Colgate-Michigan tilt, while Holy Cross-Navy is set for ESPN3.
These will be the first two NCAA Division I lacrosse contests held at Flushing's Citi Field, which opened in 2009.
The Metropolitan Lacrosse Classic is yet another nationally prominent event that will feature Patriot League teams in 2013. Lehigh is set for the Pioneer Face-Off Classic Feb. 23-24 in Denver and the Whitman's Sampler Independence Classic just outside Philadelphia March 9, while Colgate and Navy will square off in the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic March 23 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
