Four Former Patriot League Student-Athletes Chosen in MLL Supplemental Draft

Center Valley, Pa.--Four former Patriot League student-athletes were chosen in the 2009 Major League Lacrosse supplemental draft. Among those selected were Navy's Billy Looney and Ben Bailey, Colgate's Matt Lalli and Army's Justin Bokmeyer.

Looney, a 2007 graduate of Navy, was the first Patriot League player off the board. The Boston Cannons selected the midfielder in the third round with the 15th overall selection. Ben Bailey, a fellow Midshipman midfielder, was the next Patriot League player selected. The Washington Bayhawks took Bailey, a 2004 Navy graduate in the sixth round with the 32nd overall pick.

Also selected were former Colgate standout Matt Lalli and former Army attackman Justin Bokmeyer. Lalli, a midfielder was selected by the Chicago Machine. A 2008 graduate of Colgate, Lalli was taken in the eighth round with the 43rd overall pick. Bokmeyer, a 2008 Army graduate, was chosen by the Denver Outlaws in the 10th round with the 59th overall pick.

A total of nine Patriot League student-athletes have been selected in the MLL supplemental draft. This season's four supplemental selections are the most in a single-season for the Patriot League. A total of 25 Patriot League players have been drafted by MLL franchises.
