Center Valley, Pa.A pair of Patriot League attackmen have been named honorable mention preseason All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse. Bucknell senior Austin Winter and Lafayette junior Tom Perini were honored by Inside Lacrosse prior to the 2010 campaign.

Winter was recently named a Bucknell team captain for the 2010 season. In 2009, he earned Honorable Mention All-America honors for the second year in a row and First-Team All-Patriot League honors for the third straight year after totaling 49 points on 17 goals and 32 assists. Winter has 94 assists in three seasons, a total already ranks third on Bucknell's career charts. Last season Winter became the fifth two-time All-American in program history. Bucknell has never had a three-time All-American.

Winter has also produced 56 career goals, giving him 150 total points, fifth-most in Bucknell history. Last year, he had multiple points in all but two of his 15 games. He had a season-high six points against Lehigh and also had four five-point games, the last coming against Navy in the Patriot League championship game when he had two goals and three assists.

As a sophomore last season, Perini led the nation this year in goals per game. Perini finished the season with 39 goals in 13 games, averaging exactly 3.00 goals per contest. Perini scored at least one goal in all 13 contests for the Leopards. He had two game-winning goals and scored eight goals on a Lafayette man-advantage squad that finished 15th in the country.

Perini scored a career-high six goals on Feb. 25 against Wagner. Three days later, he tallied a hat trick in the Leopards’ 8-5 win over Quinnipiac. He also had a five-goal game against Marist.

Lafayette will commence its season on Feb. 6 at Rutgers. Bucknell will open the 2010 season a week later in Atlanta, Ga. The Bison will meet ACC power Duke at 1 p.m.
