Lafayette's Jim Rogalski
July 18, 2012
For fans who aren't familiar, what's your coaching background?
I played at St. Mary's College after going to Broadneck (Md.). I coached under Jim Stagnitta at Washington & Lee, my first big coaching job, and we made the Final Four in 2001. From there, Coach Bates hired me at Drexel and I was there for three years, then went to Rutgers for six years — again coaching with Stags — before moving on to Scranton. Both coach Bates and Stagnitta are high-profile coaches, and I've learned most of what I know from them.
You're familiar with lacrosse in Northeast Pennsylvania. What attracted you to Lafayette?
I think they've made a commitment to lacrosse. With all the success the Patriot League's had over the last couple years, those schools are hot commodities. I think the school is scratching the suface of our future success.
