CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Former Patriot League Men's Lacrosse standouts Chris Eck and Garrett Thul have been chosen for the final 23-man roster that will represent Team USA in the 2014 FIL World Championship in Denver beginning on July 10, US Lacrosse announced today.
Eck and Thul were named from a 31-player roster that attended training camp last week in Connecticut and Massachusetts, and competed in Thursday's MLL All-Star Game at Harvard Stadium in Cambridge, Mass.
Eck, who led Colgate to the 2008 Patriot League championship as a senior, has been playing professionally with the Boston Cannons since being chosen with the 38th selection of the 2009 Major League Lacrosse draft.
Thul, Army's career leader in goals with 163, was the 21st overall selection in the 2013 MLL draft by the Hamilton Nationals. Thul scored in Team USA's 10-9 win over Team MLL on Thursday.
