Center Valley, Pa. - A total of 107 men's lacrosse student-athletes have been named to this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, including Scholar-Athlete of the Year Brendan Buckley of Army.
Buckley, a junior engineering management major, earned a 3.938 grade-point average in the spring term.
Five student-athletes received a 4.0 GPA or better during the spring semester. Army senior James MacGibbon earned a 4.017 GPA while majoring in systems engineering. Colgate senior Kevin Gordon, an economics major, posted a 4.11 GPA, and his teammate James Queeney, a mathematics major, recorded a 4.22 GPA, which was the highest in men's lacrosse during the spring semester. Lehigh teammates freshman Klay Heston, an arts and sciences major, and junior Baxter Lanius, a finance major, also earned a 4.00 GPA. All 14 members of the Academic All-Patriot League team also received honor roll recognition.
Bucknell led all Patriot League schools with 22 student-athletes making the Academic Honor Roll. Lafayette added 20 student-athletes to the list, while Colgate followed with 19. Lehigh contributed 18 student-athletes, while Holy Cross was close behind with 17.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
