Navy's Erik Hoffstadt
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - A total of 130 men's lacrosse student-athletes have been named to this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, including Scholar-Athlete of the Year Joe Fletcher of Loyola University Maryland.
Fletcher, a senior accounting major, earned a perfect 4.00 grade-point average in the spring term.
In addition to Fletcher, three men's lacrosse student-athletes achieved a 4.0 GPA or higher during the spring semester. Colgate senior Justin Kirchner (economics) and Navy senior Erik Hoffstadt (systems engineering) accomplished the feat for the second consecutive spring. Colgate sophomore Andrew Aicher also received a 4.0 as an economics major.
Eleven members of the Academic All-League team announced in April also earned honor roll status this spring.
Bucknell led all Patriot League schools with 21 student-athletes making the Academic Honor Roll. Holy Cross, Lafayette and Lehigh tied for second with 18 selections apiece, followed closely by Loyola with 17.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
