CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – A total of 112 men’s lacrosse student-athletes have been named to this year’s Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, including Scholar-Athlete of the Year Brendan Buckley of Army.

Buckley, a senior engineering management major, earned a 3.989 grade-point average in the spring term.

In addition, seven of the 112 honorees achieved a 4.0 GPA or higher during the spring semester. Colgate senior James Queeney, a mathematics major, led with a 4.33 GPA, while the following recorded 4.0s: Bucknell sophomores Sam Grinberg (economics major) and Michael John (interdisciplinary studies: English and math); Colgate junior Justin Kirchner (economics); Lafayette senior Anthony Zawadzki (economics) and junior Jake Mann (psychology); and Navy junior Erik Hoffstadt (honors systems engineering).

All 12 members of the Academic All-League team announced in April also earned honor roll status this spring.

Bucknell led all Patriot League schools with 25 student-athletes making the Academic Honor Roll. Colgate and Lehigh tied for second with 19 selections apiece, followed closely by Holy Cross (18) and Lafayette (16). Rounding out the list are Army (10) and Navy (five).

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League’s winter or spring championship sports.
