Final Div. I Warrior/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Patriot League finished with three men's lacrosse teams in the final Warrior/Inside Lacrosse media ranking released on Tuesday.

Regular season and tournament champion Loyola University Maryland (15-2), who spent two months at the top of both the media and coaches polls, comes in at No. 5 in the final media poll. Lehigh (13-5), who lost in the tournament final to the Greyhounds, slots at No. 19. Regular season runner-up Army (9-5) landed just outside of the top 20 as an honorable mention.

The 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Tournament Champion Duke Blue Devils were a unanimous selection as the top team in the nation. During the regular season, Loyola defeated Duke 14-7 on March 9 at the Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore, Md. The Blue Devils defeated Notre Dame 11-9 on Monday to capture a second consecutive national title.

Loyola lost its season opener 14-13 in overtime at Virginia and did not suffer another defeat until a 13-6 setback to Albany in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. The Greyhounds ascended to the top spot in the national polls on March 24 -- a position they held until the final poll. The two losses represent the fewest of any team appearing in the final top 20 rankings.
