Hoboken, N.J.--Three-time Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year Brandon Corp was selected fourth overall by the Boston Cannons in the Major League Lacrosse draft Wednesday, May 27 at Stevens Institute of Technology. The Colgate senior became the second Patriot League player to be drafted in the first round, joining Navy's Billy Looney, who was drafted fifth overall by the Chicago Machine in 2007. Corp will join former college teammates Chris Eck, Colin Hulme and Matt Lalli with the Cannons. He will also team up with Lehigh head coach Kevin Cassese, who is a midfielder for Boston.
Corp was recently named a First-Team All-American following a strong senior campaign. Corp paced the Patriot League with 35 goals and 28 assists for 63 points. A four time all-Patriot League selection, he was also the first Raider to be named a nominee for the Tewaraaton Trophy, which honors the top lacrosse player in the United States. His personal-best 63 points this season placed him third in the nation in scoring averaging 4.20 points per game.
