Patriot League To Be Represented By Six Student-Athletes And One Coach At USILA North/South Games

Center Valley, Pa.--Six student-athletes and one coach will represent the Patriot League at the 68th United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's North/South Games, which be played at Harvard Stadium on Friday, May 22, 2009. Four members of the Division I/II North Team come from the Patriot League, while two more former Patriot League standouts will represent the South Team. Also participating will be Lehigh head coach Kevin Cassese, who will assist Bryant head coach Mike Pressler on the North coaching staff.

Three members of the North squad hail from Colgate University. Among them is three-time Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year Brandon Corp. He became just the second player in the history of the Patriot League to be named Offensive Player of the Year three times, joining Army's Tim Pearson, who won in 1999, 2001 and 2002. Corp has been named to the All-Patriot League Team four straight seasons, earning First-Team honors three times. He was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week twice this season. Corp is joined by Colgate teammates Kevin Colleluori and Andrew Watkins. Colleluori was named to the All-Patriot League Team for the second straight season after leading the Patriot League in goals per game. Watkins Played and started all 15 games, finishing with 22 groundballs. The Raiders' co-captain picked up a season-high five groundballs against No. 1 Syracuse.

Joining the Colgate trio on the North unit is Army's Kevin LoRusso. A two-time member of the All-Patriot League Team, LoRusso recorded 17 goals and seven assists in his senior season, including 10 goals in Patriot League play.

A pair of Bucknell Bison will represent the South Team. Billy Haire was named to the squad after being named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. Haire was named to the All-Patriot League team for the third time in his career after anchoring a Bucknell unit that ranked second in the League in scoring defense. He received Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honors twice this season. Haire's Bucknell teammate, Joe Mele, joins him on the South Team. Mele scored 33 points this season, including a team-high 28 goals.

The Division I/II North/South Game will be played as part of a triple header. The Division I/II game will be played at 4:00 p.m. It will be preceded by the Division III game at 2:00 p.m. and followed by a Major League Lacrosse contest featuring the Boston Cannons and the Denver Outlaws at 7:30 p.m.
