Patriot League Tournament Notes 
Center Valley, Pa. - Army will host its first-ever Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Tournament as the top seed this weekend, welcoming No. 2 Navy, No. 3 Colgate and No. 4 Bucknell to Michie Stadium at West Point. No. 1 Army will take on No. 4 Bucknell at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 25 in semifinal action, followed by No. 2 Navy vs. No. 3 Colgate at 7 p.m. The Patriot League Championship Game will take place Sunday, April 27 at 2 p.m. and will be broadcast on CBS College Sports.
This year marks the first time Army has hosted the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Championship. The Patriot League held its first tournament in 2004. Navy was the host in 2004, 2005 and 2007, while Colgate held the championship in 2006.
All three games of the Patriot League Tournament will be available through the Patriot League's All-Access live-streaming package. The cost to watch both semifinals games on Friday is $6.95. The cost to view the championship game, which will also be broadcast on television on CBS College Sports, is $7.95. Major League Lacrosse Director of Broadcast Content Jason Chandler (play-by-play) and former Syracuse All-American Paul Carcaterra (analyst) will call the action for Sunday's championship broadcast on CBS College Sports.
The Patriot League Tournament games will also be available on SIRIUS Satellite Radio. Both the Army-Bucknell and Navy-Colgate semifinals will be available on channel 119. The championship game will be carried on channel 152, taking the Army feed or Navy feed, depending on which team is the highest remaining seed.
Tickets to the 2008 Patriot League Men's Lacrosse championship can be purchased at www.goARMYsports.com by using the link for tickets or by calling 1-877-TIX-ARMY. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for youth and students for both of Friday's semifinal games, while Sunday's championship game tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth/student. A group ticket rate is also available, with parties of 10 or more fans being admitted for $2 per person. The group rate only applies to tickets bought in advance. All students from the participating schools will receive free admission to all three games with proper identification.

Army is the highest ranking Patriot League team nationally coming in at 11th in the USILA Coaches Poll, Army had strung two wins together over League foes Navy and Lafayette, before dropping a 10-6 game to No. 2 Duke to close out the regular season. This is the first time Army will host the Patriot League Tournament as it makes its fourth tournament appearance. Army lost in the semifinals last year to Navy, but in 2005 and 2006 the Black Knights made it to the championship game, dropping both to the Mids.
If Army advances it will play either Navy or Colgate. Army defeated both Navy (9-6) and Colgate (13-9) during the regular season. Army and Navy have met in the League tourney three times, twice in the finals (2005 and 2006) and in the semifinals last year. The Black Knights defeated Colgate in their only previous tourney meeting. In all-time games Army is 27-56-3 versus Navy and 25-4 against Colgate.
Bucknell checks in at 19th in the USILA Coaches poll. The Bison tied their highest national ranking on April 14th at No. 9, but two losses last week dropped Bucknell down. The Bison head into the tourney on a two-game slide with losses to Penn State and Colgate last week. The loss to Colgate last Saturday took Bucknell from hosting the tournament as the top seed to the No. 4 seed. Bucknell has previously appeared in the Patriot League Tournament in 2004, 2005 and 2007 always as the No. 3 seed.
If Bucknell advances it will would either face Navy for the first time ever in the tourney or meet up with Colgate for the second time. The Raiders defeated the Bison in the semifinals last year by one goal. The Bison lost to both teams this season. Bucknell has posted a 16-9 all-time record against Colgate and a 2-5 mark against Navy.

Navy was ranked as high as sixth in the nation on April 7 and currently stands at No. 14. Navy has won all four of the Patriot League's tournament titles, three times as the No. 1 seed and once as the No. 2 seed. The Mids lost their last two regular-season games to No. 17 Army and No. 7 Johns Hopkins. Navy's biggest win of the year came over No. 3 Maryland, 5-4, on April 4. Navy's two other losses both came by one goal in overtime to No. 6 Cornell and No. 4 Georgetown.
If Navy advances it would play either Army for the fourth time in League tourney play or Bucknell for the first time. Navy defeated Bucknell 4-3 in overtime during the regular season and lost to Army. The Mids have been dominate in the overall series against Army, posting a 56-27-3 mark, while going 5-2 against Bucknell all-time.
Colgate is making its third-straight and fourth overall Patriot League Tournament appearance. The Raiders fell to Navy in last year's championship matchup. Colgate is riding a four-game winning streak, including an 11-9 victory over No. 9 Bucknell on the last day of Patriot League play. Colgate is receiving votes in both the USILA Coaches Poll and the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.
If Colgate advances it will face either Army or Bucknell. The Raiders fell to Army and defeated Bucknell 11-9 during the regular season. Colgate would be playing either team for the second time in tournament history. They lost to Army in 2006 and beat Bucknell in 2007 - both in semifinal action. Colgate is 4-25 against Army and 9-16 against Bucknell in all-time meetings.
