LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell freshman midfielder Mike Danylyshyn (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) enjoyed his best game at the collegiate level in a big victory over No. 14 Army on Friday night, and he has been rewarded with his first Patriot League Rookie of the Week citation.

Danylyshyn had two goals and an assist in the 7-4 victory, all of them coming at important junctures. He scored an extra-man goal early in the second quarter to give the Bison a 3-0 lead, then he assisted on Tim Brandau's EMO tally that made it 4-0.

After Army finally cut into a 6-0 deficit with a third period goal, Danylyshyn quickly answered with his second goal of the night to restore the six-goal cushion. Bucknell went on to complete the important victory - its school-record-tying ninth straight home win -- and tie the Black Knights for second place in the Patriot League standings, one game behind Navy in the loss column.

Danylyshyn had a goal and an assist in a win over Holy Cross a week earlier, and now has back-to-back multi-point games. He has played in every game this season and now has four goals and four assists for eight points.

Bucknell is 8-2 overall and 3-1 in the Patriot League. The Bison are ranked No. 10 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and No. 11 in the latest USILA Coaches' Poll.

The team is back in action on Friday with another key Patriot League game at Lehigh at 7:30 p.m.
