Bucknell men’s lacrosse sophomore Todd Heritage is having another stellar season.

The former Cheshire standout has netted 28 goals and seven assists while leading the Patriot League team to a 7-3 start to the season.

“It helps to have a lot of great players around me,” Heritage said Wednesday. “They find me very well and I just try to my best to finish for them.”

The campaign couldn’t have started any worse for Bucknell. The Bison, who lost just three games for the entire 2011 season, dropped their first three contests 2012. Two of the defeats were in overtime to Delaware and Villanova. The other was an 11-9 defeat to undefeated UMass, the No. 2 team in the country which features on its roster one of Heritage’s former Cheshire teammates, freshman defenseman Torrey Martone.

Since then, a seven-game winning streak has propelled Bucknell into the national rankings at No. 16.

In the second game of the winning streak, a 14-10 victory over Hobart on March 10, Heritage tallied eight goals to tie Bucknell’s single-game record. He had a four-goal, three-assist effort against Lafayette on March 17.
