CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Lehigh University student-athletes picked up a pair of Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Awards following the Mountain Hawks exciting 7-6 triple-overtime victory Sunday over No. 20 Villanova at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
Sophomore defenseman Tripp Telesco was named Defensive Player of the Week, for No. 17 Lehigh, while junior goalkeeper Matt Poillon was recognized as Goalkeeper of the Week.
Holy Cross sophomore Sean Wilkinson was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week after registering six points in the Crusaders season-opening 15-13 loss at No. 19 St. John's. Colgate freshman goalkeeper Brandon Burke was named Rookie of the Week as the Raiders improved to 2-0 with a 13-3 home victory over Vermont.
Honorable mention went to Loyola University Maryand's Nikko Pontrello, Joe Fletcher and Jack Runkel as well as John Glesener, of Army, and Colgate's Bobby Lawrence.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SEAN WILKINSON, HOLY CROSS So., A, Ridgefield, Conn.
Wilkinson, who played in nine games and scored one goal as a freshman, recorded four goals and two assists for six points in the Crusaders 15-13 loss Sunday at St. John's. Scored three times and assisted on another in the fourth quarter as Holy Cross cut a 13-6 Red Storm lead to 14-12 with four minutes remaining. Tied for second on the team with four ground balls.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TRIPP TELESCO, LEHIGH So., D, Ridgewood, N.J.
Had a career-high seven groundballs and seven caused turnovers in Mountain Hawks 7-6 triple overtime win over No. 20 Villanova as the defense held an opponent to six goals for a third straight game. Telesco and the defense held Villanova scoreless for a stretch of 20:19 bridging the second and third quarters, and over the game's final 23:14.
GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
MATT POILLON, LEHIGH Jr., GK, Mount Sinai, N.Y.
Finished with 12 saves, including eight after halftime, in 7-6 triple-overtime win over Villanova to improve to 3-0 on the season and an eye-popping 28-6 in his collegiate career. For the season, owns a 5.73 GAA and 60.0 save percentage.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
BRANDON BURKE, COLGATE Fr., GK, Potomac, Md.
In his second career start, stopped nine shots while allowing only two goals for a save percentage of .818 in 13-3 win over Vermont. Sports two-game totals of 3.13 goals-against average and .750 save percentage, along with two victories.
NIKKO PONTRELLO, LOYOLA MARYLAND Jr., A, Marlton, N.J.
Scored three goals, including the game-winner 19 seconds overtime, in the Greyhounds 12-11 win at No. 9 Penn State on Saturday. The three goals, all of which came in the second half and overtime, were a career high. Tied for the team lead this season with five goals through two games.
JOHN GLESENER, ARMY Jr., A, Camillus, N.Y.
Had a career-high five assists to go with two goals in the Black Knights 15-6 win over VMI. The 2014 Preseason Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year scored his 100th career point on an assist late in the second quarter.
BOBBY LAWRENCE, COLGATE Sr., D, Summit, N.J.
Picked up seven ground balls in Colgate's 13-3 victory over Vermont. Also led the Raiders with two caused turnovers. Now has 10 ground balls and four caused turnovers this season.
JOE FLETCHER, LOYOLA MARYLAND Sr. D, Syracuse, N.Y.
The preseason All-American picked up two ground balls and caused two turnovers to lead the Greyhounds' defense in a victory over No. 9 Penn State on the road Saturday
JACK RUNKEL, LOYOLA MARYLAND Sr., GK, Fairfield, Conn.
Runkel was a standout in goal on Saturday for the Greyhounds, making 12 saves including five during the fourth quarter against the ninth-ranked Nittany Lions. The 12 saves were a season-high for the senior goalkeeper.
