Patriot League September Golfer of the Month

Jeff Pike, Bucknell Jr., Rye, N.Y.

Pike had an outstanding first month of the season, winning his first collegiate title as the individual champion at the Bucknell Invitational and placing in a tie for sixth at the Colgate Invitational to earn his first Golfer of the Month honor.

Pike shot a 4-under 136 (67-69) to win the Bucknell Invitational to open the season. The first-round 67 was a career low and two shots off the school record while tying for the fifth-best competitive round in program history. His performance helped Bucknell to the team title for the fourth time in the last six years.

Pike also placed in a tie for sixth at the Colgate Invitational, and he shot a two-over 74 in the only completed round at the rain-shortened Cornell Invitational. Pike averaged a team-best 72.4 in September.

Honorable Mention

Tyler Ostrovsky, Lafayette So., Simi Valley, Calif.

Ostrovsky had a pair of top-10 finishes in his two events, placing fifth at the Bucknell Invitational and in a tie for sixth along with Pike at the Colgate Invitational. The fifth-place finish is the best of his career and was one stroke behind third place.
