Norman, Okla. - Rising Navy senior Peter Reilly (Merrimack, N.H.), the 2011 Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for golf, was among the 138 Div. I golfers named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars it was announced Thursday by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Reilly was the only golfer to represent the Patriot League on the prestigious list.

To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70 percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university..

A two-time All-Patriot League selection, Reilly secured the Patriot League's Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the sport of golf after producing a 3.58 GPA as a history major in the honors program during the spring semester, while boasting the team's second-lowest stroke average at 75.6. Reilly, who is ranked among the top 21 percent of the Class of 2012 (1,135 members) has been named to the Commandant's List in five of the six semesters at the Academy and was named to the Dean's List in each of the last two semesters. In addition to being named the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for golf, he was also named to the inaugural five-man Academic All-Patriot League Golf Team. On the links, he finished in the top 25 of two tournaments, including a 12th-place showing at the Patriot League Championship to help lead the Mids to a second-place finish.
