Center Valley, Pa. - Thirty-six golf student-athletes have been named to this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, including 2012 Scholar-Athlete of the Year J.J. Szmadzinski of Bucknell.
Szmadzinski, a junior accounting major, earned 3.83 grade-point average in the spring term. Lafayette freshman Robert Dyer (economics) and Navy junior Chris Reed (aerospace engineering) earned a perfect 4.0 GPA. Three players from the Academic All-Patriot League team also received honor roll recognition.
Navy led all Patriot League schools with eight student-athletes making the Academic Honor Roll. Bucknell and Lafayette added seven student-athletes apiece to the list, while Colgate followed with five.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
