EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette's Carter Rufe was named to the 2012 Division I PING All-Region Northeast Team announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America recently. The senior had three top ten finishes this past spring, including a third place mark at the Patriot League Championship.

Rufe was the lone Patriot League golfer on the regional teams, which included 155 selections. The accolades come after completing his career with his second First Team All-Patriot League selection. During the spring season, Rufe won the Lafayette Spring Invitational for the second consecutive year and took medalist honors at the Lehigh Valley Cup. His lowest round of the campaign came in the final round of the Lafayette Spring Invitational as he carded a 66 on the final 18 holes to force a playoff and claim the individual title with a birdie on the first hole. Rufe averaged 74.5 strokes per round in the spring.
