Former Lehigh golf standout Henry D'Alberto captured the top spot by shooting a 3-under-par 69 to win the Massachusetts Open qualifier on Wednesday.

The win at the Halifax Country Club qualifies D'Alberto to compete in that state's open. His round on Wednesday featured an eagle on the second hole, with birdies on the fifth and eighth holes.

"I'm delighted for Henry," said Lehigh head coach Kelly Gutshall. "He's worked so hard and it's marvelous that he now has this opportunity."

A 1997 graduate of Lehigh, D'Alberto was a four-time Patriot League honoree. The two-time captain was the 1997 Patriot League champion in addition to being a medallist in 1996. He led Lehigh to two consecutive Patriot League team titles, as Lehigh earned top honors in both 1996 and 1997.
