Czarnecki Earns All-Patriot League Honors

WORCESTER, Mass. - Freshman Matt Czarnecki (Greenwich, Conn.) has been named to the 2005 All-Patriot League team in men's golf, it was announced today by the conference office. In accordance with league policy, the Patriot League men's golf All-League team is made up of the top 10 finishers at the championship, and in this case 11 players were recognized due to a tie for 10th place.

At the Patriot League Championship, held on April 23 and 24 in Lewisburg, Pa., Czarnecki finished in ninth place overall, with a total of 221 strokes over three rounds. In the second round, he shot a one-over par 71, the best round by any Holy Cross golfer over the weekend.

Czarnecki led the Crusaders to a sixth place finish at the Patriot League Championship. Over the course of the season, he averaged 79.5 strokes per nine holes, to rank third on the team.
