Joining Army in the regional are Texas A&M, San Diego State, Texas Tech, California, Liberty, Washington, Pepperdine, Oregon State, Purdue, UC Davis, Arizona, Texas-Arlington and Loyola Maryland.
"We are excited to represent West Point and the Patriot League," said Army coach Brian Watts. "We are certainly excited to be going to Arizona. We would have been thrilled with any regional but look forward to Arizona and a great experience for our cadet-athletes."
The Black Knights earned the NCAA spot by winning the Patriot League Championship for the 10th time in school history. Army held off Navy by four strokes (870-874), with senior Matt Krembel claiming the individual title with an even-par 213. Krembel was named Patriot League Golfer of the Month for April, and earned his fourth All-Patriot League selection for his finish at the League Championship. This marks Army's 24th NCAA appearance.
Five golfers will compete for each team at the NCAA Regional with the low four scores accounting for team scores. The five low teams and low individual will advance to the NCAA Tournament scheduled for May 31-June 5 at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Okla.
Senior captain Matt Krembel, juniors William Park and Ethan Johnson, sophomore Matt Philie and freshman Anthony Kim will represent the Black Knights.
Army will play Thursday's round with golfers from Loyola-Maryland and the five individuals. Army's tee times begin at 9:40 a.m. local time and run until 10:20 a.m.
Tee times on Friday and Saturday will be determined by scores.
