WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army golfers Kevin Lee and Pete Phipps were named to the 2003 All-Patriot League Team announced Thursday by the league office following stellar play at the conference championships.

Sophomore Phipps led the Black Knights with a fourth-place showing at last weekend's Patriot League Championship. The Hudson, Ohio, native shot a three-round 224. Phipps earned his first Patriot League honor following his first league tournament.

Lee opened the conference tournament shooting a par 72 en route to carding Army's best score of the weekend. The senior, who hails from Chula Vista, Calif., shot a 155 in the final 26-holes to tie for sixth place. He is one of three players to earn all-league recognition two consecutive seasons. In 2002, Lee tied teammate Scott Manley and Navy's Billy Hurley for first place with a 209 in being named a league all star. Manley was crowned the medalist on the third playoff hole in 2002.

Navy led the conference with four players, Brian Crum, Billy Hurley, Joey Kistler and Nick Rogers, named to the 12-person team. Also selected were Lehigh's John Jaravata, Patrick McCahill and Nam Kyu Park; Bucknell's Tom Lane and Abbie Valentine; and Lafayette's Brad Rock. Crum, who captured medalist honors, was honored as the Patriot League "Golfer of the Year." Lafayette's first-year mentor Jim Hutnik was selected the league's "Coach of the Year."

The Black Knight, who concluded their 2002-03 schedule on Monday at the Montclair State Invitational, took third place at the 2003 Patriot League Championships held at the Saucon Valley Country Club in Center Valley, Pa.
