EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Two Lafayette names appeared on the 2003 All-Patriot League golf team as junior Brad Rock earned postseason accolades and coach Jim Hutnik was named Coach of the Year.
Rock carded a final round 76 and finished with an individual score of 230 (80-74-76) to lead Lafayette to a fourth-place finish at the Patriot League Tournament - its best finish in the event's 13-year history. Rock finished in a two-way tie with Bucknell's Abbie Valentine for 11th.
In just his rookie season, Hutnik was voted Coach of the Year by the conference coaches. A 1978 graduate of Lafayette, he took over the Leopard golf program in August. Prior to that, he spent nine seasons as the head coach of the Bethlehem Catholic High School team, where he was named Coach of the Year in 1999.
