WORCESTER, Mass. - Freshman Matt Czarnecki (Greenwich, Conn.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from April 18-24. Czarnecki led the Holy Cross men's golf team to a sixth place finish at the Patriot League Championship and a second place finish at the Worcester City Championship last week.

At the Patriot League Championship, held on Saturday and Sunday in Lewisburg, Pa., Czarnecki finished in ninth place overall, with a total of 221 strokes over three rounds. In the second round, he shot a one-over par 71, the best round by any Holy Cross golfer over the weekend.

Earlier in the week, Czarnecki finished in 13th place at Wednesday's Worcester City Championship, held in Charlton, Mass., shooting at 84.

The Crusaders conclude their season this weekend, when they take part in the Rhode Island Spring Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 29-30.
