CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Lehigh seniors Mike Colvin and Sam Loughery concluded their season with a win over rival Lafayette on Saturday, and on Monday they were each honored for their performance in the victory with Patriot League football weekly awards.
Colvin was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for 362 yards and four touchdowns and rushing for 82 yards and a score in the 38-21 victory over the rival Leopards. Loughery tallied 10 tackles, two tackles for loss and an interception in the victory to claim the final Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week award of the year.
Holy Cross junior placekicker John Macomber was named Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week for making a field goal and averaging 43.2 yards on eight punts in a 24-0 win over Georgetown on Saturday. The Hoyas were represented by freshman defensive end Dezmond Richardson as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after recording five tackles with a sack in the game.
Honorable mention status went to Colgate junior quarterback Gavin McCarney and sophomore linebacker Tyler Butler, Holy Cross seniors wide receiver Gerald Mistretta and linebacker Erik Wachter and Fordham senior running back Carlton Koonce.

Offensive Player of the Week
Mike Colvin, QB, Lehigh Sr., 6-3, 230 (Morristown, N.J./Morristown)
Colvin won game MVP honors of the Lehigh-Lafayette contest by completing 25-of-41 passes for 362 yards and four touchdowns and rushing for 82 yards and a score in a 38-21 comeback win over the Leopards on Saturday. He set a career-high for rushing yardage and total offense, and tied his career high for passing yards and touchdowns. Colvin was 9-of-16 for 145 yards and two touchdowns in the second half as Lehigh outscored Lafayette 21-0 after intermission. Colvin led Lehigh to a 10-1 record, its third-straight 10-win season. He is named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week for the second time.
Defensive Player of the Week
Sam Loughery, LB, Lehigh Sr., 6-1, 215 (Glenshaw, Pa./Pitt Central Catholic)
Loughery filled the stat sheet with 10 tackles, 0.5 sacks, two tackles for loss and an interception in Lehigh's 38-21 win over Lafayette on Saturday. The interception came in the fourth quarter to help seal the win for the Mountain Hawks. Lehigh held Lafayette scoreless and to just 176 yards of total offense after the first quarter. Loughery is named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for the first time.
Special Teams Player of the Week
John Macomber, K/P, Holy Cross Jr., 5-11, 199 (Vienna, Va./Georgetown Prep)
Macomber converted on his only field-goal attempt and all three of his extra-point tries while averaging 43.2 yards on eight punts in Holy Cross' 24-0 shutout of Georgetown on Saturday. He pinned four of his eight punts inside the 20. Macomber earns his first Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week award of the year.
Rookie of the Week
Dezmond Richardson, DE, Georgetown Fr., 6-2, 225 (Euless, Texas/Euless Trinity)
Richardson claims his second Patriot League Rookie of the Week award of the year after totaling five tackles and a sack in a 24-0 loss to Holy Cross on Saturday. The five tackles were two off a career high and the sack was his second of the season.
Gavin McCarney, QB, Colgate Jr., 6-2, 192 (Jefferson Township, N.J./Jefferson Township)
McCarney ran for 178 yards and a touchdown and completed 12-of-20 passes for 212 yards and a score in Colgate's 41-39 win over Fordham on Saturday. He set the school's total offense record with 3,562 yards for the season.
Carlton Koonce, RB, Fordham Sr., 5-8, 185 (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley)
Koonce carried 33 times for 232 yards and three touchdowns in Fordham's 41-39 loss to Colgate on Saturday, and in the process set the school record with 1,596 rushing yards for the year.
Gerald Mistretta, WR, Holy Cross Sr., 6-1, 207 (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian)
Mistretta caught five passes for 78 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for a score in Holy Cross' 24-0 shutout of Georgetown on Saturday.
Erik Wachter, LB, Holy Cross Sr., 6-2, 218 (Whitehouse Station, N.J./Hunterdon Central)
Wachter had 15 tackles and a sack to lead a dominant defensive effort in a 24-0 shutout of Georgetown on Saturday.
Tyler Butler, LB, Colgate So., 6-2, 225 (Loxahatchee, Fla./Seminole Ridge)
Butler tallied 14 tackles, including 11 solo, and had a tackle for loss and forced fumble in Colgate's 41-39 win at Fordham.
