Center Valley, Pa. - The Patriot League automatic berth to the FCS postseason has already been decided, but there's still a lot on the line in the final weekend of the year. No. 13 Holy Cross will try to clinch the outright title and complete a perfect League season with a win at Bucknell. No. 21/22 Lafayette can get a share of the crown with a win over rival Lehigh if the Crusaders slip up, and also needs a victory to stay in the hunt for an at-large playoff berth. No. 22/21 Colgate, which finished its season at 9-2, is also in that mix.

Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week

Dominic Randolph, Holy Cross Sr., QB, 6'3, 223, Amelia, Ohio/St. Xavier
Randolph extends his all-time Patriot League record to 16 Offensive Player of the Week awards, and does it after a game where he accomplished the one thing that had eluded him: win a Patriot League title. Randolph helped Holy Cross to its first League crown since 1991, and first playoff berth since 1983, by completing 23-of-37 passes for 348 yards and two touchdowns and also rushing for a score. He shook off two early interceptions to rally Holy Cross back from a 19-7 second-quarter deficit with three straight scores to take a 28-19 lead. He rushed for 10 yards to finish the game with 358 yards of total offense. He threw for over 300 yards for the fifth time this year and 23rd in his career, and has passed 3,000 passing yards and 30 passing touchdowns for the third straight season. Randolph also became the all-time FCS passing atempts leader in the game, and now stands with 1,687.

Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week

Troy Taylor, Lehigh Sr., LB, 6'2, 235, Phoenix, Ariz./Brophy Prep
Taylor led a nine-sack effort for the Lehigh defense in a 35-28 win at Fordham on Saturday, as he filled the stat sheet with 11 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, forced fumble and pass breakup. The 11 tackles were a career high, and his forced fumble led to a Lehigh touchdown to tie the score at 14. Taylor has 35 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss in his last four games.

Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week

Jarard Cribbs, Lehigh Jr., CB/PR, 5'10, 180, Waldorf, Md./Lackey
Cribbs' punt returns played a key role in Lehigh's win over Fordham, as he brought back seven punts for 107 yards in the 35-28 win. He had a long return of 60 yards in the second quarter, and also notched a 36-yard return in the period. Both big returns set up Lehigh touchdowns. He established career highs in punt returns and punt return yardage. Cribbs also notched an interception and six tackles from his cornerback spot in the game. He earns his second career Special Teams award.

Patriot League Rookie of the Week

Bryan Andrews, Lehigh Fr., DB, 6'0, 175, Evans, Ga./Greenbrier
Andrews recorded four tackles and three pass breakups and also blocked a kick to help Lehigh to a 35-28 win at Fordham on Saturday. It was his first multiple tackle game, and the tackles and pass breakups were both career highs. His breakup of a Fordham pass in the endzone on fourth down was the final play of the game, and his blocked kick in the fourth quarter preserved Lehigh's 35-28 lead.

Honorable Mention Performances Last Week

Pat Simonds, Colgate Sr., WR, 6'6, 223, Sidney, N.Y./Sidney
Simonds caught nine passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns to help Colgate past Bucknell, 29-14.

Campbell ran for 155 yards, a career-high, in Lehigh's 35-28 win at Fordham.

Patriot League Notebook

Crusaders Claim Sixth League Crown, First Since 1991
No. 13 Holy Cross is the Patriot League Football champion for the first time in nearly 20 years, as the Crusaders defeated Lafayette, 28-26, in a showdown for the title on Saturday in Worcester. Holy Cross earns its first Patriot League title since 1991, and garners the Patriot League's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Football Championship for its first playoff berth since 1983. Holy Cross previously won the League title in 1986, 1987, 1989, 1990 and 1991. FCS playoff selections will be announced on Sunday.

Holy Cross Tries to Make Title Its Own
While Holy Cross is already guaranteed of the Patriot League's automatic playoff berth, the Crusaders need a win at Bucknell or a Lafayette loss to seal the outright Patriot League Championship. Holy Cross' previous five titles all came during undefeated seasons, though the Crusaders will try to finish with a 6-0 mark for the first time. Fifteen of the previous 23 Patriot League champions finished with an undefeated record, though last year's Colgate team was the first since 2003 to pull it off. Bucknell does have a history as a spoiler, however. The Bison won at No. 19 Fordham in the final game in 2007 when the League champion Rams were going for a perfect Patriot League record.

Third Time's a Charm
Holy Cross won a matchup for the League title and automatic playoff berth after losing the same contest on the road in the past two years. The Crusaders fell on the final day of the regular season at Colgate, 28-27, last year, and 24-21 at Fordham on Nov. 3, 2007.

Lafayette Still Hoping For a Shot
Lafayette has plenty on the line at rival Lehigh on Saturday, as the Leopards need a victory for a potential shot at a share of the Patriot League title and, more importantly, to keep their hope alive for an at-large FCS playoff berth. The No. 21/22 Leopards are right in the middle of the at-large race with an 8-2 overall record that includes wins over the top two Ivy League teams (Penn and Harvard) and losses only to teams in the top 15 in the country (Liberty and Holy Cross). The Leopards need a win and a Holy Cross loss for a share of their seventh Patriot League title.

Rivalry Certainly Matters, Too
Also on the line in the Lafayette/Lehigh game are the usual bragging rights in the most-played rivalry in college football. It is the 145th meeting between the teams, with Lafayette leading the series, 76-63-5. Lehigh holds a 13-10 edge in Patriot League matchups. Lehigh broke a four-game Lafayette series win streak in Easton last year, and now the Mountain Hawks go for their first home win over the Leopards since 2003. There will be plenty of television coverage for the game. It can be seen live on WFMZ-TV, RCN-4 and 8 and WBPH-60 in the Lehigh Valley, Fox College Sports Central, ESPN360.com and through ESPN Game Plan.

Colgate Just Has to Sit and Wait
No. 22/21 Colgate completed its season with a 29-14 win over Bucknell on Saturday, and now will wait and hope for an at-large berth into the FCS playoffs. The Raiders finished the year at 9-2 overall and 4-2 in the Patriot League. It was their fifth nine-win season in Head Coach Dick Biddle's 14-year tenure, and 12th time in the past 13 years that they have finished at least 4-2 in the Patriot League.

9-2 Usually Works For Playoffs
The Patriot League might have two teams with a 9-2 record when the FCS playoff selections are announced, and that's been a good sign for getting an at-large bid. Since 1998, no Patriot League team at 9-2 or better has been denied an at-large spot in the postseason. Lehigh made it at 10-1 in 1999, and the Mountain Hawks got in with a 9-2 mark in 2004. The other Patriot League at-large berths have gone to Colgate in 1998 and Lafayette in 2005. Each of those teams made the postseason with an 8-3 record.

Holy Cross, Lafayette, Colgate in FCS Rankings
Holy Cross remained steady after beating Lafayette, as the Crusaders are at No. 13 in both The Sports Network top 25 and FCS Coaches poll. The Leopards dropped slightly to No. 21/22, while Colgate is in the same positions in the different polls, but No. 22 in The Sports Network and No. 21 in the FCS Coaches poll.Three Patriot League teams have not finished in the top 25 since the final ESPN/USA Today poll in 2005. This is the first season since 2005 that three Patriot League teams have been ranked at any point during the year. Holy Cross has been in the polls since the preseason, Colgate first entered on Sept. 28 and Lafayette earned its spot in the rankings on Nov. 2 to give the Patriot League three top 25 teams for the past three weeks.

Holy Cross Gets Best of Top 25 Contests
There were no matchups between top 25 Patriot League teams from 2005-2008, but that trend ended in a big way this year with three such games in the past four weeks. The home team was victorious each time, which was good news for Holy Cross. The No. 22 Crusaders beat No. 17 Colgate, 42-28, on Oct. 24. No. 24/25 Lafayette beat No. 18/20 Colgate, 56-49, on Nov. 7 to set up last week's Patriot League title showdown won by No. 13/14 Holy Cross over No. 20 Lafayette, 28-26, in Worcester. Holy Cross is 3-0 against top 25 competition this year, also beating No.25 Harvard at home on Sept. 19.

Home-Field Advantage
The top three teams in the Patriot League all made good use of their home field this year. Holy Cross and Colgate each finished with a 6-0 record at home, and both squads have won 10 home games in a row overall. Lafayette won its last five home games to finish 5-1, while Bucknell is also 3-1 on its home field.

Historical Success for Leopards, Crusaders
At 8-2 overall, Lafayette is having one of its best seasons in the program's history. Lafayette's seven-game winning streak that was snapped at Holy Cross was the longest in a single season since 1940, when the Leopards finished 9-0. The only seasons since 1940 where the Leopards even won eight games are 1981, 1988, 1992, 2004, 2005 and this year, and they are going for their first nine-win season since 1981 on Saturday. Holy Cross' 9-1 record is its best since a perfect 11-0 season in 1991.

Randolph Sets Another FCS Record: More on the Way?
Holy Cross quarterback Dominic Randolph notched his fourth FCS career record on Saturday against Lafayette, as he attempted 37 passes to become the all-time leader with 1,687 career attempts. He passed the record of 1,680 that had been held by Steve McNair (Alcorn State, 1991-94) and Cal St. Northridge's Marcus Brady (1998-01). Randolph also extended two of his career FCS records in the win over Lafayette: he threw a touchdown pass for the 40th straight game and passed for more than 200 yards for the 39th time. Earlier in the year, he matched an FCS record by notching 13 consecutive games with 300 yards of total offense. Randolph is approaching another major FCS career mark, as his his 1,071 completions are 51 off the record of 1,122 held by New Hampshire's Ricky Santos (2004-07). Randolph is in fourth place in FCS history in passing yardage (12,837),fifth in total offense (13,578) and tied for fifth in touchdown passes (113). He leads the Patriot League in 10 different career categories: completions, attempts, passing yards, passing touchdowns, total offense, touchdowns responsible for (128), 300-yard passing games (23) 400-yard passing games (seven), 400-yard games of total offense (nine) and plays (1,950).

More National Recognition for the Patriot League
After his outstanding seven-touchdown effort against Colgate on Nov. 7, Lafayette quarterback Rob Curley earned national player of the week honors from each of the major outlets: College Sporting News and The Sports Network. He is the fifth Patriot Leaguer to earn a national award this season, with Dominic Randolph also earning one from both The Sports Network and College Sporting News, though coming on separate weeks. Bucknell's A.J. Kizekai and Fordham's John Skelton were honored by College Sporting News, and Fordham's Isa Abdul El-Quddus was named by The Sports Network. Patriot Leaguers also won six ECAC honors, including five of the eight Offensive awards. Curley won that award on Nov. 3 for his performance in Lafayette's win over Bucknell.

Charting the Statistics
Patriot Leaguers are all over the NCAA leaderboard, and the lists for career and single-season statistics can certainly change this weekend as well. To get a look at the NCAA FCS statistics, including active career leaders, read page 10 of the football release. The Patriot League career statistical leaderboard follows on page 11, with the League's single-season marks on page 12.
