CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Lehigh and Colgate will match up for the 2012 Patriot League Football title in just five days, and on Monday each team gained some recognition following last weekend's victories.

The Mountain Hawks moved up to No. 5 in the FCS Coaches Poll, reaching the top five in one of the two official rankings for the first time since the final Sports Network poll of the 2011 season. Lehigh remained at No. 8 in Monday's Sports Network top 25, and was one of 10 schools receiving first-place votes.

In addition, Lehigh remained at No. 1 in the ECAC FCS Lambert Meadowlands Poll. The Mountain Hawks won last year's Lambert Cup as the top FCS team in the east.

Lehigh will square off with Colgate with the Patriot League title on the line on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network, and in that game the Mountain Hawks will have to deal with the offensive exploits of Raider junior quarterback Gavin McCarney. After being named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week earlier in the day, McCarney garnered Sports Network Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors on Monday for the second time in the last three weeks. He was also selected as the National FCS Performer of the Week by College Football Performance Awards for the second time this year, as well as the CFPA FCS Quarterback of the Week.

McCarney led Colgate to a record-setting offensive day in a 65-41 win over Lafayette, and nearly broke the Patriot League single-game rushing mark by carrying 19 times for 288 yards and three touchdowns. It was second in League history only to a 291-yard day by Colgate's Nate Eachus in 2010. McCarney also completed 13-of-17 passes for 224 yards and a score to amass a school-record 512 yards of total offense, which stands second in Patriot League history. Colgate set school and Patriot League records with 531 rushing yards and 755 yards of total offense, and the 65-point total was the second-best mark in League history. McCarney leads the nation with 12.2 points per game, making him the only quarterback in the top 70 on the list.

Colgate senior Jordan McCord carried 27 times for 203 yards and four touchdowns in the victory, and was named the CFPA FCS Running Back of the Week.
