Center Valley, Pa. - Lafayette's Rob Curley became the fourth different Patriot League quarterback to earn a weekly award on Monday, as the senior was named Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in a 35-14 victory over Bucknell on Saturday. The Defensive Player of the Week honor went to Holy Cross' Jimmy Thomas, while Rob Dornfried was named Special Teams Player of the Week from the Crusaders. Fordham's Kevin Heinowitz garnered Rookie of the Week plaudits.
Curley had an outstanding effort on Saturday, completing 30-of-35 passes for 333 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions or sacks in the win over the Bison. He set career highs for completions, attempts and passing yardage. Thomas made a career-high 12 tackles and notched his first two collegiate sacks and a fumble recovery while Dornfried made both of his field goal attempts and all five of his extra point tries in Holy Cross' 41-27 win over Fordham. Heinowitz made each of his field goal attempts and all three of his extra points in the losing effort.
Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week
Rob Curley, Lafayette Sr., QB, 6'1, 200, Cinnaminson, N.J./Holy Cross
Curley led Lafayette to a 35-14 win over Bucknell by playing a nearly perfect game on Saturday, completing 30-of-35 passes for 333 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions or sacks. The completions, attempts and yardage marks were all career highs. Curley threw all three of his touchdown passes in the second half as Lafayette scored on its first four possessions to break open a game that was tied at 7-7 at the break. Curley's quarterback rating was 242.9 for the game. The performance came one week after he set a career high with 305 passing yards against Fordham. He has led Lafayette to its best overall start since 1981 with a 7-1 record, and six consecutive victories for the first time since 1992. Lafayette is 3-0 in the Patriot League for the first time since 2005. Curley ranks in the top 20 nationally in passing yards, total offense and completions per game, while leading the Patriot League and placing seventh in the country with a 155.4 pass efficiency rating. He earns his second career Offensive Player of the Week award.

Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week
Jimmy Thomas, Holy Cross So., LB, 6'3, 204, Severn, Md./Archbishop Spalding
Thomas recorded 12 tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery to help Holy Cross hold Fordham to 27 points despite 627 yards of total offense in a 41-27 Crusader victory on Saturday. The sacks were the first of his collegiate career, and Thomas placed second on the team while setting a career high in tackles. He recovered a fumble in the third quarter to set up a Holy Cross touchdown that made the score 34-13.
Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week
Rob Dornfried, Holy Cross Jr., K, 5'8, 176, Berlin, Conn./Northwest Catholic
Dornfried earns his first Special Teams Player of the Week award after converting all seven times he kicked the ball in a 41-27 Holy Cross win at Fordham on Saturday. He was 2-for-2 on field goal attempts, hitting from 31 and 20 yards, and also connected on all five of his extra point tries. Dornfried set a career high with 11 points and tied a career best with two field goals made.
Patriot League Rookie of the Week
Kevin Heinowitz, Fordham Fr., K, 5'10, 175, Oakland, N.J./Indian Hills
Heinowitz had a strong effort in a loss for Fordham, connecting on both of his field goal attempts and all three of his extra points in a 41-27 defeat to Holy Cross on Saturday. He made field goals of 27 and 30 yards to help Fordham stay within 24-13 at the half. Heinowitz receives his first Rookie of the Week award after earning the Special Teams honor on Oct. 5.
