Zach Barket was trying to get the feeling again.
At Schuylkill Haven last year, Barket rushed for 4,187 yards -- believed to be the highest total of any player in the nation -- and scored an equally amazing 66 touchdowns.
But until Lehigh's game at Bucknell on Saturday, Barket had just 47 yards rushing this year on 10 carries and no touchdowns.
So, while his performance in the Mountain Hawks' 35-16 win over the Bison wasn't exactly vintage Barket, it was a breakthrough and an indication of what may be to come.
The 5-10, 200-pound freshman gained 77 yards on 21 carries, caught one pass for six yards and scored his first collegiate touchdown -- a 1-yarder as Lehigh won for the second time this season. The Mountain Hawks play at Colgate on Saturday.
Barket's effort was good enough to make him the Patriot League Rookie of the Week.
