Corvias ECAC Football Weekly Awards (Oct. 8)

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The accolades continued to pour in for Fordham junior quarterback Mike Nebrich and Colgate junior defensive back Mike Armiento on Tuesday when both players were selected as Corvias ECAC FCS Players of the Week.

Nebrich continued his sweep through the weekly FCS honors, as he had already won awards from The Sports Network, College Sporting News and College Football Performance Awards after his performance against Lehigh on Saturday. Armiento also received an accolade from College Football Performance Awards.

Nebrich was named the ECAC FCS Co-Offensive Player of the Week after completing 26-of-36 passes for a career-high 384 yards and four touchdowns and rusing for 56 yards and a score to lead Fordham to a 52-34 win over Lehigh on Saturday. Nebrich recorded his third-straight game of at least three touchdown passes, and notched his third 300-yard passing game of the year.

Nebrich leads the nation in completion percentage at 73.5%, and stands in the top 10 nationally in passing yards, total offense, completions and points responsible for per game as well as passing efficiency. He was selected as Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week for the third time on Monday.

Armiento took home the ECAC FCS Co-Defensive Player of the Week Award following his 11-tackle, two-interception performance in a 41-20 win at Cornell on Saturday. He took his first interception back 85 yards for a touchdown to give Colgate a 7-0 lead, and finished with a school-record 134 interception return yards for the game. Armiento returned his second interception 49 yards to set up Colgate's final touchdown.

Armiento leads the Raiders with 48 tackles, and now has three interceptions this season and nine for his career. He was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for the first time.

In just five weeks of ECAC awards, Patriot Leaguers have now collected eight honors by six different players. Nebrich joins Lehigh senior quarterback Brandon Bialkowski with a pair of Offensive Player of the Week honors, with Lehigh senior wide receiver Lee Kurfis also taking home the award once. Armiento and Fordham junior linebacker Victor DiFusco have won the Defensive Player of the Week honor, while Fordham junior placekicker Michael Marando was named ECAC FCS Special Teams Player of the Week.
