Sept. 13, 2006
Centerville, Mass. - Helping Lehigh football to its first win over Villanova University in 82 years, junior quarterback Sedale Threatt was named the ECAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Threatt, who was also tabbed the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week for his role in the Mountain Hawks' victory, racked up 300 yards of total offense as Lehigh topped Villanova, 31-28, last weekend. The win was the Mountain Hawks first over the Wildcats since 1924 and first at Villanova Stadium, in what was Lehigh's first-ever visit.
Threatt put up 223 yards in the air on 18-of-29 passing (62.1 percent) and threw two touchdowns strikes - both 18 yard passes. In addition to his work in the air, Threatt also let his feet do the talking, rushing for a team-high 77 yards.
The win was also Lehigh's first over an Atlantic-10 opponent since the 2001 NCAA postseason when the Mountain Hawks defeated Hofstra in the first round.
