2008 Patriot League Football Media Guide Now Available Online

Aug. 6, 2008

Center Valley, Pa. - The 2008 Patriot League Football Media Guide is now available online in its entirety at the football page of www.patriotleague.com or by clicking here. The guide includes sections that preview the 2008 season and each of the seven Patriot League teams, review the 2007 campaign and include historical information on Patriot League football.

The guide was printed on recycled paper that was approved by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), which is a worldwide council that sets up guidelines for FSC stock.

Printing the football guide on recycled paper is just one step of the Patriot League's plans to "think green" in 2008-09 and beyond.

"The Patriot League and its institutions are taking the lead to protect the environment in our work and daily activities, and we are excited to move our printed guides to recycled paper to promote an environmentally friendly way of doing business," said Patriot League Executive Director Carolyn Schlie Femovich.

The recycled paper used in the Patriot League Football Media Guide came from mixed sources, which is a combination of 100 percent virgin stock that meets the environmental and social standards set by the FSC and recycled products that are FSC approved. The FSC sponsors development of responsible forest management worldwide, and plants between four and seven trees in place of every tree that is cut down in order to maintain the balance of the forest.

Christmas City Printing in Bethlehem, Pa., which printed the guide, is an FSC certified and approved company. The recycled stock from Christmas City has to be approved by the FSC before the guides can be printed.

"We do more than 50 percent of our jobs on FSC stock, and sooner or later it will be probably be done for everybody as more and more stocks become certified," said Don Frace of Christmas City Printing.
