Andrew Shoop knows the history. You don't really have to remind him. He understands in both high school and now in college, he has put up some prolific passing numbers and in his mind he has little to show for it.

The quarterback position, perhaps more than any other in sports, is not based on numbers or statistics. It's based on wins and losses.

Shoop threw for better than 5,000 yards and nearly 50 touchdowns in less than three seasons as the starting QB at Danville, yet he never led the Ironmen to the postseason. When he finally got a chance to play consistently last year as a junior at Lafayette, Shoop again put up big numbers but success didn't follow. He threw for more than 2,000 yards and 15 scores, but Lafayette went just 4-7 and 1-4 in the Patriot League.
