Coaches and players from the Lafayette football team held a football clinic Thursday evening, on Fisher Field, for youth football players from Easton, Palmer Township and Forks Township. The children, in fourth through seventh grade, stretched as a group, attended a concussion seminar and participated in position specific drills.
Defensive coordinator John Loose headed the clinic which was directed by 30 players, offensive coordinator Mickey Fein and defensive backs coach Doug McFadden. After a group stretch led by senior wide receiver Mitchell Bennett '11, the youngsters were broken up into several groups, including quarterbacks, running backs, tight ends/wide receivers, offensive line, defensive line, linebackers and defensive backs. Following the workouts, head coach Frank Tavani spoke to the young players about the importance of academics and respecting the game.
The team wrapped up its voluntary summer workouts yesterday and will have a break before preseason camp begins Aug 7.
