CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The unofficial kickoff to the 2014 football season is fast approaching with Patriot League Football Media Day set for Wednesday at Green Pond Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa.

Coaches, student-athletes and media from around the League will come together just before preseason practices begin. All seven Patriot League Football head coaches will be in attendance, along with select student-athletes from the institutions. The League's preseason poll and offensive and defensive players of the year will all be announced during the Media Day, along with the preseason All-Patriot League Team.

While the event is restricted to media members, the Patriot League will be providing updates throughout the day through its Football Twitter account, @PatriotLeagueFB with #PLFB. The updates will begin at 9 a.m. with the release of the preseason honors, and continue with opening remarks.

During the media session, the staff from Patriot League Network will be interviewing all head coaches and student-athletes in attendance. Fans can send in their questions for the video interviews to the football twitter account, either by tweeting @PatriotLeagueFB or #PLFB, to be used in the segments with the following coaches and student-athletes.

The Patriot League football season kicks off on Aug. 30 with five teams in non-League action. The first Patriot League games will be played on Sept. 27 when Fordham visits Holy Cross and Georgetown heads to Colgate. The winner of the Patriot League title receives the League's automatic berth to the FCS playoffs, which begin on Nov. 29.
