Georgetown Football Names Justin Brown Director of Football Operations
WASHINGTON -- The Georgetown University football team has named Justin Brown the Director of Football Operations for the 2012 football season. Brown, a four-year letterwinner and two-year starter on the football team at University of Notre Dame arrives on the Hilltop after two years as a production assistant at ESPN.
In his role at Georgetown, Brown will handle day-to-day operations in addition to assisting the coaching staff with summer camp, working with the program's social media content and in preparation for the Hoyas fall training camp. Brown is also enrolled in the Sports Industry Management program in the School of Continuing Studies at Georgetown.
"Justin is another great addition to our staff and provides us with help in several areas," Head Coach Kevin Kelly said. "He brings an excellent football background from a top program, as well as a strong work ethic."
Brown, a four-year letterwinner and two-year starter at defensive end on the University of Notre Dame football team from 2004 to 2008, comes to GU after spending the last two years as a Production Assistant with ESPN's College Football Live.
At ESPN, Brown produced and edited scripts to corresponding video and highlights, supervised the completion of creative projects and researched, composed and presented story ideas pertaining to athletics and popular sports culture.
At Notre Dame, Brown graduated with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Film & Television and Sociology, earning the Total Package Award, given to student-athletes achieving a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or better, while earning a varsity letter.
Brown is a Clinton, Md. native and a graduate of Bishop McNamara High School.
