The honorees include Bucknell's Tim Bolte, the 2011 Patriot League Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and five additional members of the Football Academic All-Patriot League Team announced in November. The 2012 NFF Hampshire Honor Society is comprised of college football players from all divisions who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 grade point average or better throughout their college career.

Holy Cross and Georgetown each placed four student-athletes on the list to share League honors. Ellis and Lock were also Academic All-Patriot League selections in the fall.

Each of the 19 student-athletes also earned a place on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in February after achieving a 3.2 grade point average or higher in the fall semester.

A total of 721 players from 232 schools qualified for membership in the society's sixth year, showing a steady increase in membership each year since the inaugural class in 2007. The amount of selections out of the Patriot League has also increased each year, with 17 student-athletes honored last season.
