Fordham University senior running back Darryl Whiting (E. Elmhurst, N.Y./Holy Cross) signed an NFL free agent contract with the Tennessee Titans it was announced by the team. He becomes the third Ram in the past two years to sign an NFL free agent contract, joining Isa Abdul-Quddus and Stephen Skelton, who signed with the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals, respectively, last year.
Whiting, a running back, led the Fordham ground game last year, gaining 668 yards on 171 carries, an average of 3.9 yards/carry and 60.7 yards/game, with one touchdown. He was fourth in the Patriot League in rushing yards per game.

He ranks seventh on the Fordham career rushing yards list and fifth on the school's all-time rushing attempts list. He also recorded six 100-yard rushing games in his career, including a 251-yard performance against Georgetown in 2010, the third best single game total in Fordham football history.
With the addition of Whiting, Fordham currently has four former players on NFL rosters with Whiting, Abdul-Quddus and Skelton being joined by Skelton's brother, John, the former record-setting Rams quarterback who is entering his third year with the Arizona Cardinals.
