C.J. McCollum led Lehigh with 22 points on Saturday

Center Valley, Pa. - Patriot League men's basketball teams combined for a 3-4 record over the weekend, with all of the victories coming against Northeast Conference opponents.
Holy Cross beat Sacred Heart 71-60 on Friday, while on Saturday Lehigh nipped Wagner 70-69 and Colgate held off St. Francis (NY) 65-63. The Patriot League has a 14-7 advantage in head-to-head play with the NEC this year, clinching the 26-game season series between the leagues.
In other action, American saw its eight-game winning streak come to an end with a 66-61 loss at St. Francis (Pa.) on Saturday. Army fell 76-64 at La Salle and Navy lost an 84-59 final at No. 10 Missouri also on Saturday, while Lafayette fell 84-79 at Sacred Heart on Sunday.
R.J. Evans went over 1,000 career points in the victory for Holy Cross (4-6). Devin Brown scored 22 points to lead the Crusaders, while Evans had 12 and Justin Burrell added 10. Holy Cross took control with an 18-2 first-half run and held the advantage the rest of the way in the 71-60 victory over Sacred Heart.
Lehigh (8-3) won for the eighth time in nine games, doing it in dramatic fashion as Anthony D'Orazio hit the game-winning three-pointer with eight seconds left for the 70-69 victory at Wagner. Lehigh used a 14-0 run to overcome an 11-point deficit in the second half, and rallied from a 68-64 deficit with 21 seconds left on three-pointers by Mackey McKnight and D'Orazio. C.J. McCollum led the Mountain Hawks with 22 points, while McKnight scored 15.
Colgate (4-5) remained perfect at home by pulling out the two-point win over St. Francis (NY). The Raiders trailed 61-60 before baskets by Yaw Gyawu and Mitch Rolls gave them a 64-61 lead, and Pat Moore added a free throw for the 65-63 final. St. Francis (NY) missed a shot to tie at the buzzer. Rolls led Colgate with 15 points, while Gyawu and Sterling Melville had 14 apiece.
American (8-3) appeared to be on its way to a ninth straight win when it led 39-25 at halftime, but St. Francis (Pa.) stormed back in the second half for the 66-61 win. Troy Brewer led the Eagles with 23 points.
Army (3-7) fell behind early and could never recover in the 76-64 loss at La Salle. Ella Ellis led the Black Knights with 19 points, while Jordan Springer had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite an outstanding game from J.J. Avila, Navy (3-8) could not keep up with No. 10 Missouri and fell 84-59 on the road. Navy used a 24-6 run to cut the gap to 16 late in the second half, but could not get any closer. Avila finished with 26 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the game.
Jim Mower scored 24 points, but it was not enough as Lafayette (4-6) fell 84-79 at Sacred Heart. The Leopards got to within one point with just over a minute to play, but Sacred Heart hit a key three-pointer on the next possession to seal the win.
On Monday, Lehigh plays host to Arcadia in the last action for a Patriot League team until the weekend.
