CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Colgate led most of the way at home against Fordham on Tuesday, but the Rams went on a late 11-3 run to turn the tide for a 77-73 win in Hamilton.
The Raiders led by as many as 12 points in the first half and were up eight with less than 10 minutes to play, but could not close the deal against their Atlantic 10 opponent. Fordham's run turned a 67-63 deficit into a 74-70 lead with 16 seconds left, as the Rams finished the surge with six straight poitns in 30 seconds to take the lead. Colgate twice got back within two points, but was never able to get up a shot to try and tie the score.
Austin Tillotson led the Raiders with 18 points, while Ethan Jacobs and Damon Sherman-Newsome had 14 and Matt McMullen scored 11. Colgate was over 50 percent from the field at 29-of-57, but hit just 8-of-23 shots from beyond the arc.
There is one Patriot League game on tap for Wednesday as Boston University visits George Washington in a contest shown on NESN, SportsNet New York and Comcast SportsNet DC.
