CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Lafayette could not overcome a turnover-filled game and fell at Monmouth 65-60 on Monday night.
The Leopards (1-6) fell behind for good as Monmouth opened the second half with an 15-6 run to erase Lafayette's two-point halftime lead. The Hawks would go up by as many as 14, and Lafayette could not get any closer than four the rest of the way. Tony Johnson nearly had a triple-double with 14 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, though he also committed eight of the team's 27 turnovers. Seth Hinrichs led the Leopards with 15 points.
Three Patriot League teams are in action on Tuesday, with Bucknell hosting Dartmouth, Lehigh at Quinnipiac and Holy Cross visiting Providence.
