Patriot League Men's Basketball Teams Set For Multiple Television Appearances

Nov. 8, 2007

Center Valley, Pa. - Patriot League men's basketball teams tip off their season this weekend, and it won't be hard for followers to find games to watch on television throughout the 2007-08 campaign.

The eight Patriot League teams already have a combined 44 games set to appear on broadcast television, with 10 of those as part of the Patriot League's package with ESPNU and ESPN2 that includes the League Championship contest on March 14 at 4:45 p.m. on ESPN2.

The television slate features 17 non-League games and 27 League contests, with networks like MASN, Comcast SportsNet, CN8 and CSTV featuring Patriot League teams, and CBS broadcasting Navy's visit to Army on Feb. 23. Every Patriot League team has at least five television appearances for the season, while Lafayette and Lehigh will have all of their League home contests broadcast regionally or nationally.

The Patriot League men's basketball season opens up on ESPNU, with Navy traveling to Bucknell for a 7 p.m. tip-off on Jan. 11. Bucknell and Holy Cross will face off on the ESPN networks for both of their regular-season matchups, with a Jan. 18 game in Worcester at 9 p.m. on ESPNU and a Feb. 16 contest in Lewisburg at 6 p.m on ESPN2.

The ESPNU schedule features three Friday night games, four Sunday tip-offs at Noon and one Saturday contest. Two weekends will include a pair of Patriot League matchups. Lehigh visits Holy Cross on Feb. 2 at Noon and Army travels to Bucknell on Feb. 3 at Noon, while American is at Colgate at Noon on Feb. 17, one day after the Holy Cross/Bucknell tilt on ESPN2.

The opening League weekend of Jan. 11-12 and Feb. 16-17 will feature all four Patriot League matchups on television.

In non-League action, Patriot League teams will be featured against many prominent opponents, including Maryland, Syracuse, Georgetown and Pittsburgh. The non-League television schedule begins Tuesday when American visits Loyola (Md.) in a game broadcast by MASN.

In addition to the broadcast appearances, two Patriot League games will be shown on free streaming on the Internet, beginning with Army's trip to Minnesota on Big Ten Network.com on Saturday at 3 p.m. Colgate's matchup with Penn State on Dec. 23 is on ESPN360.

The Patriot League will also once again be featured on Sirius radio throughout the 2007-08 season. The first Sirius game comes on Saturday at 7 p.m., when Holy Cross hosts Hofstra in a game that can be heard on Sirius Channel 158.

Every men's basketball League contest will also be shown on the Patriot League All-Access broadband package, which is available for $7.95 per month at www.patriotleague.com.

All eight Patriot League teams are in action this weekend, beginning with Colgate, Lafayette and Navy taking the floor on Friday.
