LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell men's basketball team opens its 2007-08 season this Saturday night at Sojka Pavilion against Albany, and a limited number of tickets still remain for the 7 p.m. contest.
To purchase tickets in advance, call 570-577-1000, go online to www.bucknell.edu/boxoffice or stop by either of the two Campus Box Office locations at the Weis Center or Bucknell Bookstore. If tickets still remain, walk-up sales will begin two hours before game time at the Sojka Pavilion ticket office.
Tickets for men's basketball games are $8 for adults and $4 for children and senior citizens.
Also, Bucknell students who have registered as a Bison Backer and have not yet picked up their tickets may do so at the Weis Center Box Office from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or at Sojka Pavilion on game night. Other Bucknell students, as well as faculty and staff, may obtain tickets by presenting BUID at one of the Box Office locations.
The Albany game is the first of 13 regular-season home games for the Bison, who are coming off three straight 20-win seasons. The Bison women's team, which is picked first in the Patriot League Preseason Poll, opens its home slate on Tuesday against James Madison at 7 p.m.
Saturday is a sports-lovers delight at Bucknell, with a triple-header of home action on tap. The action begins with the Bucknell-Lehigh football game at 1 p.m., followed by a critical men's soccer showdown with American at 4 p.m., and the men's basketball season opener to cap things off at 7 p.m. It will be Senior Day at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium for the final home game of the 2007 season. The men's soccer team, which is 8-5-4 overall and 3-2-1 in the Patriot League, must win Saturday at Varsity Soccer Field to qualify for the Patriot League Tournament.
