One game, albeit the biggest of their careers, will not define Lehigh seniors Marquis Hall and Zahir Carrington, All-Patriot League players and all-around good guys away from the court.
Sure, Hall and Carrington want to lead Lehigh (21-10) to a victory over Lafayette (19-12) in the Patriot League championship game this afternoon at Stabler Arena (4:45 p.m).
But to their coach, Brett Reed, who has spoken passionately about the two star players all season, what Hall and Carrington have accomplished in four years at Lehigh cannot be summed up in wins or losses.
Or awards.
Hall, a former Patriot League Rookie of the Year, has been named the League's scholar athlete the last two seasons. Carrington, the 2008-09 league rebounding champion, is also a former all-rookie team member and two-time all-Patriot second-team player.
The awards recognize their standout play and Reed longs for Hall and Carrington to climax their careers with a Patriot League title as a reward for their dedication and value to Lehigh and the surrounding community.
