CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The weekend slate in Patriot League men's basketball opened up with two games on Saturday and both home teams won as American knocked off Army 58-54 and Colgate beat Loyola University Maryland 84-60.

The Eagles (16-11, 12-4 PL) snapped a two-game losing skid and guaranteed a top-three seed in the Patriot League Tournament with the win, which dropped the Black Knights (13-14, 9-7) into a tie in the loss column for fourth place with Bucknell. Colgate (10-17, 4-12) snapped a three-game losing streak while sending Loyola (10-17, 5-11) to its fifth-straight loss.

Three more games are on tap for Sunday, with each tipping off at Noon. Bucknell visits Boston University in a game shown on CBS Sports Network, while the Lehigh/Lafayette and Navy/Holy Cross games are on Patriot League Network. Boston University can clinch a share of the regular-season title, but not the No. 1 seed in the League Tournament, with a win over Bucknell while Holy Cross can secure a top-three seed and home game the quarterfinals of the League tourney on March 5 with a win over Navy.
