Center Valley, Pa. - Bucknell and Lehigh have already locked up a home game in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League Tournament, but each school will be looking for a lot more than that when they meet on Wednesday in Bethlehem. Each squad sits at 8-4 in the Patriot League, one game ahead of third-place Lafayette and Navy.

The Patriot League/Anaconda weekly honors went to Holy Cross' Andrew Keister and Lehigh's C.J. McCollum, who won his eighth Rookie of the Week award of the season.

Patriot League/Anaconda Player of the Week (Feb. 15-21)

Andrew Keister, Holy Cross Jr., F,6'9, 235, Galloway, N.J./Absegami
Keister averaged 18.5 points and 16.0 rebounds and posted a pair of double-doubles in Holy Cross' two games to earn the Patriot League/Anaconda Player of the Week award for the first time this year and second of his career. He started the week by scoring a season-high 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting and pulling down 14 rebounds in an 83-80 loss at Navy on Wednesday. He scored 15 points and matched a career high with 18 rebounds in Holy Cross' 64-51 win over American on Sunday afternoon. The rebound total was one shy of the Hart Center record. Keister leads the Patriot League with 11 double-doubles for the season, six more than any other player in the League. He made 56 percent (14-of-25) of his shots in the two games, and hit 9-of-12 free throws. He also dished out three assists per game and totaled two blocks and two steals for the week. Keister is the second Holy Cross student-athlete to be named Player of the Week this year.

Patriot League/Anaconda Rookie of the Week (Feb. 15-21)

C.J. McCollum, Lehigh Fr., G, 6'3, 165, Canton, Ohio/Glen Oak
Two more outstanding games give McCollum his eighth Patriot League/Anaconda Rookie of the Week award of the season, as well as his third in a row and sixth in the past seven weeks. He becomes just the fourth player in League history with eight Rookie of the Week honors, and is just one away from the record set by teammate Marquis Hall in 2006-07 and Bucknell's Kevin Bettencourt in 2002-03. McCollum had two huge games on the road, averaging 25.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.0 steals in a 91-81 win at Colgate on Wednesday and 90-75 loss at Lafayette on Sunday. He tallied 22 points with five rebounds, three assists and two steals to help the Mountain Hawks rally for the win at Colgate. Though Lehigh lost at Lafayette, McCollum's individual performance was extraordinary with 28 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and four steals, leading the team in each category. It was his sixth game of 25 points or more this season, the most by a freshman in school history. It was also his third double-double of the season, and the assist and steal totals marked career highs. He is just 23 points away from eclipsing the Patriot League freshman scoring record of 509 set by Colgate's Adonal Foyle (1994-95). McCollum joins Holy Cross sophomore R.J. Evans as an eight-time Rookie of the Week honoree. Lehigh has claimed the last eight Rookie of the Week honors, matching the longest team stretch in League history that the Mountain Hawks set when Hall won eight in a row by himself in 2006-07.

Honorable Mention Performances Last Week (Feb. 15-21)

Mike Muscala, Bucknell Fr., F, 6'10, 225, Roseville, Minn./Roseville
Muscala averaged 17.5 points and seven rebounds in a pair of Bucknell victories last week, setting career highs with 23 points and 11 rebounds in a 78-67 win over Lafayette on Wednesday.

Ryan Willen, Lafayette So., F, 6'8, 215, Cape Girardeau, Mo./Notre Dame
After struggling at Bucknell on Wednesday, Willen came through with 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting to lead the Leopards past rival Lehigh, 90-75, on Saturday.

O.J. Avworo, Navy Jr., G, 6'0, 200, Houston, Texas/Alief Elski
Avworo led Navy past Holy Cross on Wednesday by recording 14 points and 13 assists in the 83-80 victory. The 13 assists were the most by a Navy player in a Patriot League game, and top mark overall since 1991. Avworo scored 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting against Army on Saturday.

Patriot League Notebook

First Place On the Line in Bethlehem
Bucknell and Lehigh have already locked up a home game in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League Tournament, but each school will be looking for a lot more than thatwhen they meet on Wednesday in Bethlehem. Each squad sits at 8-4 in the Patriot League, one game ahead of third-place Lafayette and Navy. The winner on Wednesday is guaranteed at least a share of the Patriot League regular-season crown and has the inside track to the No. 1 seed in the League Tournament. The Bison can actually clinch the top seed with a win and losses by Navy and Lafayette, while the Mountain Hawks would all but officially clinch the top spot in the same scenario. Bucknell won the first matchup between the teams in dramatic fashion, scoring the last 10 points of regulation and going on to an 81-76 win in overtime on Jan. 27.

Will We Know Quarterfinal Hosts on Wednesday?
The Patriot League Tournament is just over a week away, with the quarterfinal round set for March 3 at the sites of the top four seeds. After Wednesday, those hosts could all be known heading into the final weekend. Bucknell and Lehigh have already clinched at least a home game in the quarterfinals, and Navy and Lafayette can each do so on Wednesday. The Mids will lock up a home quarterfinal game with a win over American, while the Leopards can seal their first League Tournament home game since 2000 with a win at Army or Navy win over American. American and Holy Cross are still in the hunt at 5-7, and the Eagles can take some encouragement in playing Navy and Lafayette and already winning the first game over each foe earlier in the season.

Home Teams Coast Over the Weekend
Home court continued to play a determining factor in Patriot League games over the weekend, as the hosts won all four contests by double digits on Saturday and Sunday. Army started it off with a 69-50 win over Navy on Saturday, while Lafayette won 90-75 over Lehigh, Bucknell beat Colgate, 69-49, and Holy Cross beat American, 64-51. Eleven of the last 12 Patriot League games have been won by the home team, and home squads are 34-14 in League action. That 70.8 home winning percentage is behind only the ACC's 71.6 among all Division I conferences, and the Patriot League is the only conference in the country where each squad is at .500 or better at home in League action.

Home Court Even More Important for Top Teams
If Bucknell, Lehigh, Lafayette and Navy do end up hosting the Patriot League quarterfinals, the other four squads are going to have a tall task to win on the road. The four leaders are a combined 20-5 at home in Patriot League games. Bucknell and Lafayette finished their regular-season home slates at 6-1 and 5-2, respectively, while Navy is at 5-1 and Lehigh holds a 4-1 mark.

Three Teams Would Be Familiar Hosting....But Not the Leopards
Though they didn't host a Patriot League Tournament game last year, Bucknell and Lehigh should be comfortable doing so. The Bison hosted multiple games each year from 2005-07, and went 7-0 during that stretch with a win in the 2006 League Championship over Holy Cross. Bucknell has not dropped a League Tournament game at home since falling to Holy Cross in the 1993 title contest. Lehigh hosted quarterfinal games in 2007 and 2008, but fell to Army both times. Navy will try to host for a third straight year in the quarterfinals, though the Mids lost at home in 2008 and 2009. Lafayette is not as familiar with hosting in the Patriot League Tournament; in fact, the Leopards have not played a Tournament home game since beating Navy for the League Championship in 2000.

Lehigh's McCollum Nears Patriot League Freshman Scoring Mark
Lehigh's C.J. McCollum has made quite a name for himself in his first campaign in Bethlehem, and now he's in range of eclipsing a record set by the most recognizable name to play Patriot League basketball. McCollum has 487 points for the season, good for an 18.0 average, and is within 23 points of breaking the Patriot League freshman scoring record of 509 held by Colgate's Adonal Foyle (1994-95). McCollum is a little further from the Lehigh freshman mark of 546 set by Darren Queenan in 1984-85. McCollum could be zeroing in on an All-Patriot League selection, which would make him just the third freshman to receive that honor.

Best Seasons in a While in the Lehigh Valley
At 17-10 and 8-4 in the Patriot League, Lehigh has already won its most overall and League games since going 19-12 and 11-3 in the League in 2006. Lafayette ended an even longer drought of sucess on Sunday, as the Leopards are now guaranteed of their first winning overall record and .500 or better Patriot League finish since going 18-10 and 9-5 in the Patriot League in 2004.

Turning their Season Around
After losing a tough game at Lafayette on Jan. 20, Bucknell fell to 1-3 in the Patriot League and just 6-14 for the season. As grim as the outlook may have looked at the time, it appears just as sunny now as the Bison are the hottest team in the Patriot League with four straight wins and victories in seven of their last eight contests. Bucknell has taken at least a 19-point lead in each of its last four games, and won three by double digits. The Bison have clinched their first above .500 season in the League since going 13-1 in 2007.

Mids Getting Used to Winning Again
You can say Navy's success in the Patriot League has gone in spurts. The Mids had a winning Patriot League and overall record for eight straight seasons from 1994 through 2001. Then, the program suffered six consecutive losing League and overall campaigns from 2002 through 2007. Now, the Mids are back on the upswing, with winning League and overall seasons in 2008 and 2009 and another chance at doing so in 2010. Navy has already clinched at least a .500 record in League play at 7-5, and is just under the .500 mark overall at 13-14.

Marquis Player.....and Student
Lehigh senior guard Marquis Hall is the only Patriot Leaguer to ever record 1,400 points and 500 assists in his career, and is up to second in League annals with 532 assists. But Hall's accolades extend beyond the court, too. He is one of 10 finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award in men's basketball, which honors notable achievements in four areas of excellence - classroom, character, community and competition. Fans can vote for Hall once per day at http://www.seniorclassaward.com/athletes/marquis_hall. Hall won the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year award last season.

Lafayette/American "Flexed" to CBS College Sports Network
The latest "flex" game heading for CBS College Sports Network coverage was announced on Monday, and it will be the Lafayette at American contest that gets the national television exposure on Saturday at 4 p.m. for the regular-season finale. The coverage will continue in the postseason with one quarterfinal game on March 3 at 7 p.m. and a semifinal game on March 7 at 8 p.m. CBS College Sports Network is available through cable operators as well as on DIRECTV Channel 613 and Dish Network Channel 152.

High-Scoring Action in League Play
Patriot League action has already included one 100-point outing, seven 90+ point games and 18 80+ point games this season. That dwarfs last year's totals of one 90-point game and four 80-point efforts. The individual scoring efforts have been much more plentiful as well. Patriot League players have scored 29 points or more 13 times in League action after nobody did it last year, and there have been 10 30-point efforts in League games and now even a 40-point performance by Navy's Chris Harris. There have been 14 30-point efforts for the season, including four by Harris, after a total of four last year.

Patriot League Tournament Just One Week Away
With only two games remaining in the regular season, the 2010 Patriot League Tournament is just around the corner. The event will begin on Wednesday, March 3 with the quarterfinal round, and will be played entirely at home sites. The top four seeds will play host to the quarterfinals, and Bucknell and Lehigh have already locked up two of those spots. The top remaining seed in each bracket will host the semifinal games on March 7, as the League does not re-seed the Tournament. One quarterfinal and one semifinal game will be broadcast on CBS College Sports Network, and the Patriot League Championship is set for March 12 at 4:45 p.m. on ESPN2 at the site of the higher seed.
